Jubilee Tree

The lime tree on Wolston Derry was planted on 22nd June, 1897 as a way of celebrating Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. It stood proudly
on the old green for the next 122 years until it fell during the high winds of June 2019.
As the tree had a historic significance to the village the Parish Council wanted to keep its memory alive in some way, and decided to have three large
pieces of the stump turned into sculptures by a local chainsaw artist, and then have these sculptures positioned around the village.
Keep your eyes open for their installation at some point in the near future.
