Update from Wolston Parish Council - 30th June 2020
Residents will be aware that a planning application (R20/0172) for redevelopment of the Stretton Road Allotment Gardens site has been made on behalf of the landowners. Informal discussions are underway between the Applicant, the Land Agent, Committee members of the Wolston and Brandon Allotments and Gardens Association, the Parish Council Allotments Working Group, and other members of the Parish Council, but no decisions or formal agreements have been made by any of the parties. The Parish Council’s lease for the land is still in place and there are no plans to terminate it. The planning applications (details below) will probably not be considered by the RBC Planning Committee until mid-August, at the earliest. If the planning application made on behalf of the landowners is successful then the Parish Council’s lease will need to be revised to reflect the reduction in land being available for cultivation.

Click on the links below to see the application documents:

· R19/1411 - Erection of up to 48 dwellings with associated open space, landscaping and infrastructure (Outline - Principle and Access Only).

· R19/1384 - Construction of allotments and associated access, parking and storage facility (replacement of allotments lost in association with proposed development of 48 dwellings on Land South of Warwick Road).

A printed copy of the planning applications is available for reference at Wolston library.  The library is open 2.30pm to 5pm Monday to Wednesday, and 10.30am to 1pm Thursday to Saturday.
